Now that the summer is drawing near, it’s that time of year to start thinking about your patio furniture again. This year, why not step things up a notch? We’ve got a list of four things that your patio definitely needs. Which one will you go with?
Fire Pit
Fire pits are versatile: you can use them year round for different purposes. In the summer, they make a great way to toast marshmallows for s’mores, and in the winter, you can burn firewood and heat things up enough to still enjoy your patio year round! Fire pits are also useful for keeping biting insects away, as mosquitoes and other bugs don’t like to be around smoke. They’re cheap and easy to maintain, and they don’t take up much space, all of which makes them a great addition to any patio.
Lounge Chair
Ordinary dining chairs are pretty common for patios, but consider buying a larger lounge chair as well. It will give you space to relax and put your feet up so that you can get some sun while you enjoy the warm weather. Lounge chairs are a great place for reading, listening to music, or even taking a short nap. Make sure to find one with comfy cushions, because you’ll be spending a ton of time here.
Grill
Grilling is a fun and inexpensive way to bring your entire family together on the patio. Nothing says summer like the smell of burgers and hot dogs cooking on the grill! If you’re strapped for space, a simple charcoal grill will do the trick. If you’ve got the extra room, a larger propane grill with multiple levels for different foods will expand your options and allow you to prepare an entire meal at one time.
Umbrella or Canopy
Summer is all fun and games until the hot sun starts beating down. Escape the heat by setting up some shade over your patio. Canopy tops are popular for large patios, especially if you don’t mind having things in the shade all of the time– they can be inconvenient to move once they’re up, so most people set them up and leave them. If you’d rather have the option to get some sun, a dining table with an umbrella lets you choose between sun and shade at the drop of a hat. Either way, you’ll be glad to be able to get out of the heat.
You won’t be sorry to have added any of these into your patio. In fact, we predict you’ll spend most of the summer months (and who are we kidding, any other month) outside enjoying these fun patio additions. If you want to feel more secure or have more privacy around your patio while you’re lounging the days away, consider a fence. Not only will you love the look and atmosphere it adds to your home but you’ll gain the privacy and security you’ve always wanted.
