By Teresa Dixon In Choosing a Fence, Ornamental Fence

Design in Ornamental Fences

When most people think of ornamental fences, a blurry image of a wrought iron fence around a crazy-big mansion is brought to mind. However, in reality there are many types of ornamental fences, in aluminum or steel, and in prices the average person can afford.

Ornamental fences don’t come in one style. The many designs can fit everyone’s tastes, and everyone’s need, whether the fence is for the yard, the business, or the pool complex.

The real uniqueness of ornamental fences comes in the toppers. You can choose between simple square toppers, or hollow spheres. These provide class and dignity to your yard. There is also the more ornate–gothic style points, elegant fleur-de-lis, or stamped steel in the shape of anything, from frogs to footballs. Just as your landscaping tells a little bit of who you are, so should your choice of ornamental fencing.

Whether you choose stainless steel or aluminum, hollow sphere toppers or spikes, there is one remaining decision in your journey to the ownership of a lovely fence — the pillars between panels.

Ornamental fencing comes in panels, which are spaced between pillars or posts. A simple metal post, from the same material as the fence panel, allows the beauty of the fence to shine through. If the fence panels you choose are very decorative, or if want the landscaping to take center stage, you don’t necessarily want a big impressive pillar. If you desire for your fence to be discreet, metal posts are your perfect choice.

Pillars are charming, besides being sturdy. They can come in whatever material you desire, to achieve whatever look you are dreaming of.

Brick pillars lend warmth and friendliness to a fence that could be considered austere, while still carrying an air of elegance. Brick pillars speak of good old-fashioned values, and are just lovely when draped with flags for Independence day, roped with vines during the spring, or strung with lights at Christmastime.

Stone is eye-catching. Granite or stacked stone is chic and modern while mountain rocks or cobble is intriguing in a classic way.

Wood pillars will not last quite as long as stone or brick, but are simply beautiful. Wood pillars painted shining white will be gorgeous in the fall or above a freshly mowed green lawn.

There is an ornamental fence style for whatever you are looking for. Ornamental fences can be elegant and stately, or downhome and fun. Whatever fence style you choose, when you choose Central Fence you will be satisfied.
