We are right in the midst of the holiday season. Along with good food, friends, and family should come beautiful decorations! During the holidays is the perfect time to get crafty and turn your home into a winter wonderland or a spooky graveyard! Adding a fence to your home can definitely add flair to any look you are trying to achieve. Here are some fun ways to decorate your new fence for the holidays.
Christmas
Its Christmas time, and you’re looking to decorate your new fence but have no idea where to begin… A string of pretty white or colored lights would bring some light to your fence, making it a beautiful showpiece. Christmas wreaths and garlands would be the perfect finishing touch.
Tip: If you are looking to save time and money, look for live greenery from your yard and run lights through it. You can get floral wire from a craft store for only a few dollars, and that works really well to attach the greenery. Consider magnolia leaves or fir branches for a pretty look that pairs well with lights.
Easter
Tip: If you have an extra basket, consider placing a flowering potted plant in it, and sitting at a corner or even near your mailbox.
4th of July
The 4th of July is a patriotic holiday where we celebrate our wonderful nation’s birth. Celebrate with some Brats on the grill and lots of fireworks. You’ll likely end up showing off your yard both to revelers at your own 4th of July party, and to passersbys throughout the month. Make sure your fence provides double duty as both a protective structure and a festive backdrop.
Putting on a 4th of July themed fence is not big deal in terms of effort, but it really pays off in large dividends. Red, white, and blue would be the way to go for this holiday. A cute and simple idea would be to make paper chains. It’s easy to make and not too time consuming.
This would pair beautifully with any of our vinyl fences, particularly.
Halloween
This month is all about ghouls and goblins!!! You can pull off a creative, but still spooky, Halloween look by adding fake spiderwebs, skeletons, and lanterns. One of our ornamental style fences would be a perfect match for this idea!
Tip: Use trailing moss to create a super spooky look. It’s sold in the floral section of most craft stores.
Thanksgiving
This fall holiday is about being thankful for all that you have. During this time you can play off of the warm and fuzzy feeling of the fall season. When most people think fall, they think of pumpkins, leaves, hayrides, corn mazes along with the seasonal colors of brown, red and orange. Use these common thoughts to your advantage.
Decorate your wooden fence with the beautiful colors of fall.
