With the weather getting warmer each day, you’ll start spending less time inside of your home and more time outside in your backyard. But, before you do, you may need to spruce it up a bit. Here’s how:
Clean Up Shrubs/Trees
Rake up all the dead leaves and branches in your backyard. Turn over winter soil for spring planting. Trim and shape all old shrubs and trees so they will begin to grow fresh green leaves. Plant new ones if you need to. Be sure to organize the yard tools you will be using this spring for easier access.
Treat Your Lawn
It’s time to get your lawn in gear. Pick up any dead leaves and branches you couldn’t get by raking. Then aerate your lawn to prepare it for the fresh green grass to grow. Fill in any bare spots with turf builder and then fertilize it.
Clean Off Patio And Furniture
Spray off your patio and scrub away any dirt that might have accumulated onto your outdoor furniture during the fall and winter seasons. If anything needs to be replaced, go ahead and do so.
Repair Fence
This is the perfect time to repair rotted or damaged pickets from a wooden fence or clean up your vinyl fence. If you don’t already have a backyard fence, consider purchasing one. They have many attributes that would be very beneficial to you.
Check For Pests
A very important step in spring cleaning your yard is to check for any pests that might have made themselves a home in your backyard. If you find it has gotten out of hand, call your local pest control.
Now that you know what needs to be done to get your yard, it’s time to spring forward and get started. And then you can enjoy your backyard for the spring and summer.
