It’s almost summer which means the kids will be out of school and you’ll be planning vacations, trips, and more. If you’re looking for things to do in the area, though, that won’t cost a ton and will make a quick day-trip, we’ve got a few ideas to have fun this summer.
Splash in the Boro
Water parks are a great cooldown from the hot summer sun and an even better social event for your kids. Take a trip to Statesboro and spend the day at the park. There’s plenty to do, including many slides, a lazy river, kid-friendly section, snacks, and much more.
Tybee
The great thing about living where do is the proximity to so many beaches. You can pick any of the barrier islands, like Tybee and spend the weekend on the sand. With restaurants, a pier, stores, and more right on the beach, you’ll never run out of fun.
Pool
There’s nothing like staying at home on a warm summer’s day. If you have a pool in the backyard, this is the perfect place to be. Bring a few towels and the sunscreen out and spend the day swimming and soaking up the sun. Just make sure your pool has a fence for your own privacy and to keep the kids and unwanted guests out of the water on those days that you aren’t out there.
Other Backyard Activities
If you don’t have a pool, you can still enjoy your own backyard this summer. You may have a playground for the kids to play on but if not, it’s still not a lost cause. There are several backyard games to play like cornhole, lawn bowling, tag, or anything else your kids can come up with.
However you choose to spend your summer with the kids, make it a memorable and fun one. You’ll have just as much fun as the children if you plan a great summer.
