There have been debates over the actual security that fences can provide those who have them. Do they actually prevent intruders from coming in? While almost no fence can keep out an intruder that really wants to get in, it’s quite obvious that a yard without a fence is more likely to be chosen over one where an intruder will have to climb over a fence first. That simple barrier gives you a certain level of protection over those who don’t have one, but let’s discuss a few other reasons why fences are actually great security.

Most intruders scout out a place before deciding to go in. A tall enough fence can make it much harder for them to see whether your house is worth going into or not. Add to that the fact most people with fences also have security systems- that fence is much more likely to stop a dangerous threat to your home before it even happens as opposed to an easily visible house to check out and scout.
