When Chain Link Is Best For Your Project

Chain link is a solid fencing choice for those looking for a quality fence with minimal investment for material and installation costs. They aren’t always the best option but there are a handful of niche issues that we’d recommend going with chain link to solve.

When the project requires lots of fencing

Chain link is inexpensive material that’s also inexpensive to install. For this reason, it’s a no-brainer why it’s so popular for big projects on a tight budget.  Areas such as recreational departments and playgrounds usually make good use of chain link to help prevent small children from wandering off or to different parts of the facilities.

Chain link is also helpful at fencing inside a greater layer of perimeter fencing. For example, a complex surrounded by ornamental fence might have chain link fence inside to better compartmentalize the inside of the facility. In a nutshell, chain link is the most affordable and appropriate option when there is a large project.

When privacy isn’t a concern

Although fences, in general, are a criminal deterrent, chain link fences aren’t great at hiding anything. They’re see-through which is great for an apartment complex, an industrial plant, or a playground where visibility is key. They block out entry to your facility while still letting the area be openly viewed by passersby. If you’re in a safe environment with little concern for caution, this should be fine.

When you need a low-maintenance option

Chain link fences are very low-maintenance. They require little attention and a little bit of cleaning here and there but tend to stay rust free and sturdy for much of their life. If you have an expansive business or simply can’t give frequent attention to a fence, chain links are a great choice. For projects on a strict budget, projects with high expectations for future replacement requirements, or projects where lots of points of entry are required, chain link is your go-to fence for a number of reasons.
