Choosing A Gate For Your Commercial Fence

Choosing a gate for your company can seem a bit complicated at first, but it’s not that difficult if you know your requirements in advance. You want to choose one that will provide security and mesh well with your overall look, and of course, your newly installed commercial fence. Below are a list of some of the most popular commercial gate styles.

Slide Gate

Slide gates differ from swing gates, primarily in the way that they open. This type of gate slides from right to left rather than swinging from front to back. They are ideal when space is to limited to a single gate panel.

Swing Gate

A swing gate does exactly what is sounds like — it swings open. Pivoting from a center hinge, the gate will swing open and closed easily. Swing gates are offered in chain link and ornamental styles and are very popular. The gate shown above surrounds an apartment complex.

Overhead Track Gate

You’ve probably seen these types of gates providing admittance to storage units, parking garages and storefronts in a mall/shopping center. You can use a control pad (access panel) to punch in your security code, and the gate will unlock, allowing you to slide it open.

Vertical Lift Gate

A vertical lift gate is another entry gate that is designed for smaller spaces.  These gates lift vertically, acting as an opening for someone to pass through. A keypad can be beneficial for this type of gate as well.
