Common Reasons to Choose a Wooden Fence

Wooden Fence

Have you ever thought that your house might be lacking in some way? Perhaps it’s a fear of intrusion or maybe you just want to be the envy of the homeowner’s association. Maybe the neighbor’s kid, Johnny, nearly kicked a soccer ball right through your lower window. Whatever the reason, wooden fences are an elegant fix to many such creeping thoughts that might make you think what is this place missing?

While soccer fouls might be an obvious detriment to the framework of a house, a different sort of offense can creep up on you if you’re not careful. While you might find the neighbor’s dog a delight on the other side of the fence – so to speak – it’s a different story when it finds its way to your yard to relieve itself. Pets can make for a lot to love but can also lead to some messy situations. It’s no wonder people choose not to sour their relationship with their neighbors over sanitation disputes; one simple purchase of a pristine-white picket fence keeps their flowerbeds safe and unsullied, and their invite to the bi-weekly neighborhood cookout intact.

Wooden Fence in Beautiful Yard

Stray pets aren’t the only thing that could lead to the sudden, fervent desire to keep a wooden fence firmly planted between a person’s property and dangers to its well-being. Salespeople and other door-to-door visitors can be kept at a safe distance if a locked gate prevents their ability to ring the doorbell first. The gates can come open when it’s girl scout cookie season, but why should someone risk something less savory than tagalongs ending up on their front doorstep?

One thing people should always have control over is what passes through and leaves the threshold of their estate. For those that like the idea of maintaining a respectable level of privacy, wooden fences might be just what they’re looking for. But keeping hold of one’s right to personal space isn’t the only advantage to their decision to enclose their abode. Wooden fences are as fashionable as they are practical.

Picture the ideal house. There’s a green grass lawn, a vibrant bed of flowers, a mailbox – just past a beautifully painted fence. For the longest time, the “dream house” has almost always held the fabled white fence, flawless and pristine, a sterling guardian over one’s private domain. It’s no wonder many modern-day homeowners – even businesses – employ wooden fencing to keep their assets from dropping in value.

Farm House with Wooden Fence

An attractive fence can even add to a home’s value, not just preserve it. A person’s home should be more valuable after it’s bought, not less valuable. Even if people don’t intend to make use of it themselves, and simply wish to sell a property faster, a wooden fence would give that house that extra appeal it might need to catch the eye of potential buyers. Future residents appreciate the added touch, and the seller appreciates the time, hassle, and money saved from long-standing transactions with real estate agencies.

It’s no wonder people are making the choice to have a fence built around their estate(s). They won’t need to worry about stray pets or whenever Johnny picks up a new sport.  They won’t have to deal with unwelcome visitors seeking something from them. Their market value, their yard, and their relationships with those around them stand as testimony for their decision. Good fences make for good neighbors, after all.
