Due to moving equipment, hazardous materials, unsafe grounds, and other conditions, most construction sites erect temporary fences around the perimeter of the sites for the duration of their project. This ensures that passersby will not be injured in an accident and also protects the site from potential vandals as well as stray dogs and other large animals that may otherwise wander into the area.
A variety of fences can be rented depending upon each job’s needs so let’s look at the options.
Why a Fence?
Construction often takes place in high-traffic areas like cities, and many times there will be hundreds of pedestrians passing through or near a construction zone each day. Although the workers themselves are very safe, it is not a good idea to allow anyone and everyone to wander through a construction site, as falling debris and uneven terrain pose a hazard to anyone who is unaware of these things. Erecting a temporary fence ensures that there will be no injuries at the site.
A fence also keeps both the workers and the site itself safe. While they are working with loud equipment, construction workers may be unable to hear what is going on around them, and if a passerby or stray animal suddenly approaches them from behind, there is a great chance of injury. After the workers have gone home, there may be some individuals lurking around the site who are up to no good. A strong fence will discourage them from causing trouble.

Types of Rental Fences
Chain link fences provide visibility for both construction workers and passersby while maintaining a reasonable barricade between the two. They are also tall enough to discourage fence-hopping. For added security, privacy screens are available that can be placed on a chain link fence to make it more difficult to see through. You can choose between in-ground fences and ones that rest directly on top of the ground. Both are temporary so it depends solely upon your preference.
If your sole purpose is to direct the flow of foot traffic, lower pedestrian barricades are available. These do not protect the site itself, but show pedestrians the path that they ought to take. Pedestrian barricades are ideal for smaller projects and those that do not involve a high degree of risk or danger.
If for some reason you do not want a metal fence, you can also sometimes rent other types such as wood, but these are much less common, less sturdy, and probably less effective for the purposes of a construction site.
Temporary fences come in a variety of sizes, so not many jobs are too big.
Is your construction site secure? Renting a temporary fence could be the key to making sure your workers and the site stay as safe as possible throughout the project.
