Maintaining a lawn is hard enough without all kinds of additional problems piling up – but they will do just that. Any landscaper can tell you that if a problem exists to wreck your perfect lawn, it will probably rear its ugly head in yours soon. Thankfully, some of the more common lawn care problems have great solutions that are both simple and easy to implement.
How to prevent dying grass
Everyone’s yard has to deal with dead grass patches eventually. These dead patches can pop up for all sorts of reasons – and there are all kinds of simple lawn care tasks you can take to prevent them.
Mowing your lawn regularly, for example, will help keep it growing evenly and stop strong patches from stealing nutrients from weaker patches.
Remember to not water too often! One of the most common mistakes made by lawn owners is assuming that an overwhelmingly watered lawn is a happy lawn. This is not the case. Watering more than once a week can kill grass just as fast as not watering at all.
Keeping animals and critters out of your yard
Second to human error, unwanted animals are another common danger to your yard that can be addressed simply. Forest animals are your number one enemies in this area, and there are different types of methods to help deal with them.
Fences are a great way of keeping forest critters off your lawn. Getting a sturdy fence that’s tall enough and covers most, if not all of your property, is a great way of keeping unwanted animals out of sight and out of mind.
Outside lighting is another fantastic way to help keep away animals that might do damage to your lawn. Most forest animals prefer to feed during the night to stay away from humans, and they will usually prefer to keep to the shadows when doing so. Installing a couple of handy lights around your property can help make them nervous or scare them off.
Additional problems you might be dealing with are weeds, too much shade, or moss/fungal infections. We plan to tackle these topics soon and hope you’ll come back for more lawn care advice in future.
