When Is the Best Time of Year to Buy a Fence and Why?

When you think about your fence, you probably think about the spring or summer— Who wouldn’t? That’s when you’re outside enjoying your yard and your fence the most. Contrary though to what seems most obvious, this actually isn’t the best time to buy your fence… Surprisingly, the best time to buy your fence is actually the Winter! Here are a few reasons why.

You will get your fence much quicker. Since most people think about adding a fence during the spring and summer for the reasons listed above, the waiting list could grow a good bit longer. If you plan ahead though and buy your fence during the winter, there will not be the same level of demand during this time.

You won’t have to miss any time enjoying your yard with your family. If you plan ahead and get the fence done during the winter, then once that good weather comes, you will be able to just enjoy your yard and fence with your family while others are waiting for theirs to come in or are dealing with a busy yard full of workers. Take advantage of the time you’re in your house more to allow this work to be done, so that when it’s time to be outside, you simply get to enjoy your yard in peace and all the work is already done.

Christmas is a great time. We see family. We eat great food and we get and give great presents. That last reason though is also the reason many criminals choose to break in more during these times. Adding a fence adds security to your home. Doing so prior to Christmas makes your home a bit safer than those around you, allowing for peace of mind for you and your family during this time of family, joy and giving.

Landscaping. We love a beautiful yard and that landscaping edging your property is often improved upon in the spring. You do not want to put in that work and then have it damaged or destroyed by a fence installation. Get the fence done during the winter so that it is ready and complete when the time comes to add that beautiful landscaping for your spring and coming summer.

Sometimes not following the crowd is the best answer. While everyone else is trying to get their fence completed during the summer, you can be enjoying yours because you got it installed in the winter. The less busy, often cheaper time to get it done. Adding security for yourself and your family at year end and allowing yourself the time to landscape and prepare for enjoying your yard all summer long inside your beautiful, brand-new fence!
