3 Signs Your Chain Link Fence Needs to Be Replaced

IMG_20230110_071206953_HDR

The chain link fence is a classic favorite among property owners due to its functionality, durability, and low maintenance. Despite this, every great fence needs replacing eventually. Here are a few signs that your chain link fence is beyond repair and in need of replacement.

Rust

If you notice areas on your fence are rusted, that is a big sign your fence needs replacing by a professional. Rust heavily weakens a chain link fence, leaving it more susceptible to being damaged or pushed over easily.

Broken or Damaged Posts

The posts are the strength of your fence. If one or more posts are damaged, this can lead to things like links becoming loosened, or the links being pulled down by leaning posts, destroying the fence entirely.

Warping, Sagging, or Leaning Links

If your fence is leaning or warped in areas, this is a sign of severe damage to the posts and chain links, meaning replacing your entire fence is the most affordable option for repair.

If this list hits close to home for you, then it would definitely be in your best interest to look at investing in a replacement. With the type of damages listed above, a chain link fence is beyond repair. So the money you’d spend on repairs would just lead to more money lost in the long run once you inevitably have to replace the fence. Avoid stress and lost time, as well as potential danger to pets or children with scrapes from sharp rusty edges, and invest in a new fence that will save you money in the long run.
