Find the Right Fence Height for Your Needs

Are you ready for a fence? That is a wonderful decision towards your safety and property value, as well as the protection of your home, family, and pets. But you aren’t done just yet. Now, you need to decide which fence to get. There are different fences that fit different needs; even the height can make a huge difference in how effective your fence is! So, which is right for you and your unique needs?

You may be surprised to learn that there is no set standard for residential fence height. However, each city here in Georgia has its own fence height regulations that you must adhere to. It is important to learn what your city has to say about the issues!

If you need a fence to add to the aesthetic appeal of your landscape, like around a garden, it only needs to be one to two feet tall. Common heights for front yard fences, like an ornamental white picket fence, are around three feet to add to the home’s look without impairing vision to the road. Common heights for backyard fences are between six and eight feet which is great for keeping bigger dogs and bounce-y cats form hopping over. Typically, a fence specifically needed for privacy, like a vinyl fence, is as tall as you think you need to achieve your seclusion.

Of course, if you want a fence for a commercial business or even a farm at your home, these are different needs all together! The larger your animals are, the higher your fence will need to be to prevent them from getting out. Most dogs can be easily confined in a four-foot fence; however, larger livestock may require a six-foot fence. If you’re concerned with keeping deer out of your yard, opt for a seven-foot-tall (or taller) fence.

The choice is yours! No matter which type of fence you need, the answer is Central Fence. Our fences are versatile and built to last, yet priced at a low cost. They are constructed of top-quality, all-galvanized components; we have a varied selection for you to decide upon. Reach out and get a free fence estimate from Central Fence today.
