Organize Your Yard Tools To Start The Year Off Right

The new year calls for new and exciting ideas for your home. You don’t have to restrict yourself to just the inside of your home though. The outside of your home needs love too, including the tools you use to keep it looking its best. Here are some tips to get those yard tools in order.

Clean Your Storage Space

First, you need to do a little pre-spring cleaning. Clean up your storage space by getting rid of any yard tools that you no longer have any use for.  This may be difficult, but if you haven’t used it in years, you may do better to ‘prune’ it.

Group “Like” Tools Together

If you have similar tools that complete similar tasks, try grouping them together. This will offer up more room for space and save you time on trying to locate things.

Install Shelves

Shelves make it easier to store things in a more organized manner. Tools will be easier to see and locate when placed on a shelf.

Mount A Magnetic Bar

Mounting a magnetic bar is an inexpensive way to make room for other tools and will allow you to organize your metal tools.

Add A Tower Rack

For larger tools (like brooms and rakes), a tool tower can be the perfect solution. This will keep them all stored in a secure place and keep them from falling all over the floor.

Hang Up A Peg Board

Peg boards are great for storing light yard and garden tools. As with the shelves and magnetic bars,  a peg board is also great for organization and they open up space for other things.

Create A Toolbox For The Tools You Use The Most

Do you have tools you use more than others? Place them together in a box or basket so you will be able to get to them quicker.

When you’re done, you’ll have a garage you can be proud of. Organize now, because spring is just around the corner!
