Sprucing Your Home for the Holidays

Sprucing up your home can be easier than expected with a few simple changes. If you are expecting guests to come visit for the holidays, you’ll want to make sure that everything looks its best to make them feel at home and comfortable. Here are some ways to spruce up your home for the holidays while keeping it cozy and comfy with all the festivity you love.

Cleaning

Rent a carpet cleaner if you don’t have one already and clean up carpets and area rugs. Polish wooden floors and wooden furniture to make it look shiny and new. Pay special attention to the dining room table and other furniture in that room. After all, it’s likely you’ll spend much of the holiday in there. Add a fresh coat of paint on areas of the wall that may be a little dirty or paint all of the walls in one room to give a whole new look.

New Furniture

If you’re looking to give your living room a fresh feel, a new coffee table or end table will pull the whole room together and give you added storage space. Consider purchasing a chair or a new sofa that will blend well with the rest of your furniture. This will give your guests plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable during their visit.

Indoor Decorating

To keep the Christmas festivity alive, have a fully decorated tree in the living area or placed in a highly visible area near a front window. Use plenty of greenery with garlands down the banister and around mirrors or focal points in each room. Holiday scented candles bring a special touch to the entire setting and make your entire home smell as festive as it looks.

Outdoor Decorating

Don’t forget about the outside! Begin with a beautiful wreath on the front door and colorful or Decorate your fencewhite lights strategically placed around your shrubbery, roofing, or fence.  and porch in the same garland from inside and plant or have holiday plants like poinsettia in pots around the yard to spread a pop of color among the green.

With all of these ideas you can have a magnificent looking home. As you spruce up everything from the inside to the outside of your home you will be well prepared for the holidays and for guests to visit.
