The Many Faces of Vinyl Fences

When you’re choosing the right fence for your backyard, you may feel overwhelmed with options. There are traditional wood fences, secure chain link fences, vinyl fences, and ornamental fences. Fences serve multiple purposes, including decorative, privacy, security, property division, and adding value to your home and property.

A great option for a weather-resistant, durable fence that will last you for years is vinyl. Vinyl fencing is affordable, beautiful, and won’t fade, rust, rot, warp, or disintegrate over time. Vinyl is also planet-friendly since some types of vinyl fencing use recycled components. Let’s take a look at some common vinyl fences.

Vinyl Fence Materials

Vinyl fencing is composed of several different materials. The most common type of material used is PVC. PVC looks very similar to wood fencing, and they are the most popular type of vinyl fencing. PVC vinyl doesn’t splinter or peel, making it a sturdy and safe choice for home fencing. It is low-maintenance and easy to care for. There are many styles to choose from, for a customized look that blends with your existing decor.

Another type of vinyl fencing is vinyl coated fencing. This is actual wood fencing that has been dipped in PVC for a vinyl finish. These types of fences are more affordable than PVC vinyl fences, but they may not last as long or hold up as well to the elements. However, if you want a more traditional wooden feel, this is the fence to opt for. They will last up to 20 years with care, which is a good investment for the cost.

The last type of vinyl fencing is HTP fencing. HTP, which stands for high tensile polymer, are popular farming fences or fences used to contain animals on your property or in your yard. The base of HTP fences are wire, and they are very strong and durable. If you’re looking for the right vinyl fencing to contain your livestock, dogs, or other animals, HTP fencing is a strong choice.

Vinyl Fence Styles

If you’re unfamiliar with vinyl fences, you may not know that there are endless styles and designs to pick from. Some of these include traditional fencing, classic looks, modern, contemporary fencing styles, semi private styles, and privacy fencing. These range from two to four rail styles, and you can personalize your vinyl fencing by choosing the height and color of your fence as well as the pickets and post caps. Opt for a classic picket fence look, or even a privacy fence option.
