Finally 2015 is here and in full effect. With the new year comes the need for a new clean vibe around your home. Springtime is right around the corner.
Here are some quick and easy organization ideas to help you get started.
Assign A Home To Everything You Own
Have you ever looked for something you desperately needed and found it in a spot you don’t remember putting it in? Have you ever just sat back and noticed clutter everywhere? Assigning a “home” for your things will eliminate clutter and make it easier to find an object when you need it.
Put Waste Baskets In Every Room
Putting a waste basket in every room will eliminate trash build up. Seems like a no brainer, but it’s important to mention because if you have to walk far to throw something away, when you’re in a hurry, you’ll just lay it on a table and a pile up will ensue.
Don’t Save It If You’re Not Going To Use It
This tip goes for… everything. Clothes, shoes, old books, old movies, toys etc. If you realized you haven’t used an object in the last 6 months (this does not include seasonal or special occasion items) you more than likely will not be using it at all. So go ahead and find a new home for it — like your local used goods shelter.
Use Roll-Away Bins
Roll-Away bins are a great option if you lack space. These bins could be used for shoes, toys, books, clothes and more. And, they can easily slide under the bed or into a closet.
Use Vacuum Sealed Storage Bags
Vacuum sealed storage bags are great for people with a lot of clothes but not a lot of room to store it all. You can seal multiple items of clothing into these bags. With a simple push of a button and connection to your vacuum hose your items go from large to compact.
Use A Wine Rack For A Towel Holder
This is a cute Do it yourself (DIY) idea to store your towels. You can get a cheap wine rack and hang it up in your bathroom if you do not have a ton of space for your towels. It will give your bathroom a sophisticated look, and the cost is minimal.
Use Mason Jars To Store Small Stackable Items
Mason jars can be used for a number of things. You can use them to store small things in your bathroom, living room, bedroom and even your kitchen. Add southern charm to any room you chose without taking up a ton of space.
Put A Shoe Basket By The Front Door
Putting a basket by your front/back door for your shoes will eliminate the possibility of shoes getting scattered all over the house. Plus, with a cute label it serves as storage decor.
Hang Your Ironing Board
Ironing boards can take up a lot of space in your home if they aren’t stored correctly. For a DIY solution, use regular towel hangers on a piece of decorated wood. As you can see from the photo, it makes a cute addition to any laundry room.
Use A Plastic Shoe Organizer For Storage
A plastic shoe organizer doesn’t have to be restricted to shoes only. They are perfect for storing items in your kitchen pantry, sewing room or kids playroom.
